Are you looking for an opportunity to become the hands and feet of God? If so, we have just what you are looking for.
This is the third year St. James will be participating in the Park Place Community Soup Kitchen. On six Saturday’s throughout the year the members of St. James will cook and serve a hot and nutritious meal for the homeless and working poor in the Pawtucket area. Nine different churches share responsibility for this ministry.
The Soup Kitchen is located at the Park Place Congregational Church and serves from 50-90 individuals each Saturday afternoon. Large casseroles are supplied by our members along with salad and dessert for each meal. Diners also enjoy hot and cold drinks. 10-15 volunteers are needed to cook and serve. The group meets at Park Place church around 3:30pm; dinner is served at 4pm and clean-up ends around 5:30. Nancy Kutz organizes our soup kitchen participation.
If you would like to be a part of this ministry, see Pastor or Nancy.
We are also in need of recipes for casseroles and crock pot meals that are easily stretchable and portable. If you have any, please e-mail them to Nancy at the above address.
